Rufus, supplied lenses are a stopgap only and not intended to be a final lens. Most of us go out and buy lenses we like. Other people have the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 with the Samsung or Pentax and don't have such issues. Maybe you had a lemon... I have had lenses, Canon and Sigma, that have behaved that way. The FF/BF adjust can only work within a range of values: if the fault is outside of that or somewhere else, then it will fail. I can say that in normal use indoors and out I have no focus issues with the GX20; indeed I find focus to very accurate. I'd rather have accuracy than shear speed as has been the case for many DSLRs. Anyway, hope you get a camera to suit you.

I agree with Mr Deacon, apart from one small thing. If available light levels are not high, auto focus is very poor. This makes the camera virtually unusable in 50% of my shoots.
I found the supplied lens to be less than exciting, and a Tamron 17 50 2.8 to fail to focus at all 90% of the time. Focus adjustment did nothing to aid the problems.
All in all, lots of gadgets, but no consistent quality. I'd never go near one again, but it's only my opinion/experience. YMMV.

Wonderful DSLR with great resolution and very good noise control. It is the 'twin' brother of the Pentax K20D though they differ in a few ways but not many - they both use Samsung's CMOS sensor. It can use all Pentax and Samsung lenses as well as those from Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, etc. Most accessories are interchangeable, e.g. flashguns. It's usable in the rain with a suitable lens; has OIS for camera shake; sensor clean; adjusts FF/BF for upto 20 lenses; hot pixel remap; and a host of other useful functions. In use it is fast and easy to operate, solidly built with a good bright viewfinder, nice clear LCD... It includes a full (specific to Samsung) copy of Silkypix Developers Studio 3.0 which is a very good RAW converter. Check it out.
