This is an excellent all round lens in my opinion (I'm only an amateur). I used to have the 18-105, which was also a very good lens, but I needed a little bit more reach. Now I got this one which is even better, very sharp and with great contrast and colors. I've tried it on my D7100 and it makes a perfect "team" .
